Enjoy a great day out at the Melbourne Cup Day Harness race meeting at the Yarra Glen racecourse. With great local foods, wine, racing and the Melbourne Cup on the BIG screen, there’s plenty to entertain.

The Melbourne Cup is more than just a horse race - it is a 154-year old social and cultural tradition that ‘stops the nation’ and it’s one of the biggest days on the Yarra Valley calendar. In fact, it is the biggest Harness meeting in the southern hemisphere!!

Yarra Valley racing never fails to rise to the occasion on Melbourne Cup Day, a fun day where almost anything goes. Over many years, the first Tuesday in November has gained a reputation for fashion with a penchant for drama. It is the day to make your strongest fashion statement with an exotic or outrageous ensemble.

Enjoy the 2014 Melbourne Cup Carnival in style by dining in the Yarraview Restaurant, a Corporate Marquee, you can book a Mini Marquee or simply picnic on the lawns with a glass of wine. For small groups to hundreds, there are a range of options to suit your needs, but make sure you get in early!!

The Club will be conducting something new at this year’s Melbourne Cup Meeting – a Silent Disco. We have been fortunate enough to secure Government Funding to implement this innovative concept with a view to attracting a younger crowd. The feature of a silent disco is that each person gets their own headset and can choose from several DJ’s all playing at once and listen to whichever one they prefer. Importantly, the silent disco will not impact on the enjoyment of the event for our loyal older customers.

Another highlight of the day will be the specially created Food & Wine Avenue offering a taste of the Yarra Valley. The Avenue will showcase sensational Yarra Valley produce, including local meats and gourmet sausages, fresh strawberries and raspberries, delicious bruschetta, pate, premium quality local fruits and juices, gourmet pies, chutney, fudge, honey, jams and preserves as well as a variety of award winning Yarra Valley Wines available for purchase.

Visitors can enjoy all the racing including the Melbourne Cup from Flemington on the big screen, just relax and listen to the tunes of the live band or for the fashion conscious there is the Eastland Fashions on the Field competition.

Kids have not been forgotten with FREE entry and FREE kids’ entertainment including a jumping castle, chair-o-plane and animal farm.

Spectacular racing plus food and wine, combined with a relaxed picnic atmosphere, all add up to a great and entertaining day out.
