Party: SUP Club – Pub Run

Story of our season really, as the Wednesday weather curse strikes again! But rain or no rain, a 7.27pm high tide is too much to resist so we're going to go for Chalkwell anyway, which should be sufficiently tucked out of a dying northerly breeze for comfort – although as conditions aren't exactly perfect, we would suggest it's best suited to stronger / more confident paddlers tonight... The water ought to stay pretty flat, we might just have a few cross-offshore gusts of wind to contend with, although it'll probably still be raining a bit – and ridiculously for August, it could well be chilly enough that a bit of neoprene's probably sensible! Meeting by 6.15pm at Chalkwell rigging green (www.supsect.com/chalkwell-beach) please don't be late for a 6.30pm launch (again, we'll stagger it if necessary with the newest / shortest / slowest first and raceboards last by 6.40). All being well we're just going to do a quick dash into Old Leigh and back, so only 5 or 6km – but pack those waterproof fivers, as we're planning to grab a drink at the Crooked Billet midway! Then we'll head back bang on high tide, hopefully back to the green just as it gets dark.
