The Geraldton Ocean Classic is the Club’s premier annual Cat. 2 Ocean Race in the Yachting WA Offshore Calendar.
The race attracts the cream of WA’s ocean racing fleet and …is one that every skipper desperately wants to win. The Race will again be conducted in October in its traditional place in the offshore racing calendar.
It all starts at 1:30pm off Leighton Beach on Friday 23rd October and returns on Friday 30th October starting at 9:30am from Geraldton. Spectators will be best able to view the start from the North Mole and/or those interested in following the positions of each yacht, a race tracker on South of Perth Yacht Club’s website will enable interested followers of the event to see the progress of their favourites in real time.
A race briefing and official weather report will be conducted at 1900 hrs on Thursday 22nd October. It is mandatory for both skipper and navigator as a minimum to attend this briefing.
