O2 Priority - 17th December Midday.
General Release - 19th December
Oliver Heldens was only 17 years old when the biggest record label in the
dance industry, Spinnin' Records, approached and signed him. After years of
practicing his passion, creating music in his own bedroom studio, dreams became reality when his track “Gecko” caught the attention of living legend
Tiesto.
He immediately fell in love with Oliver’s sound and decided to release
it on his very own label, Musical Freedom. Now, only two years later, several
releases, remixes and #1 chart positions later, Oliver has become one of the
most desired dj’s in the world.
Oliver is praised for his strong original ideas and melodies, created in his
own world. His best melodies were invented while cycling back from school
or while he sat in the classroom, being bored. He always stood out from the
rest. Soon enough Oliver gained huge support from the biggest names in the
scene. Worldly known DJ's as Hardwell, Tiësto, David Guetta, Pete Tong,
Sander van Doorn, and many others gave Oliver their thumbs up. This
stimulated the young DJ to create many more tracks and to keep doing what
he loves doing the most creating new music.
December 30th became a memorable date: Oliver released his killer track
‘Gecko’ on Musical Freedom. It’s the track that caught everyone’s attention
immediately. It’s funky and eclectic and full of tech house laced bass lines
and percussive crashes. With a #2 spot in Beatport’s top 100, it was one
way of making a grand entrance. After six weeks, ‘Gecko’ remained top 5 in
Beatport’s Main Chart and #1 in its Deep House chart for over a month. And
as if that wasn’t enough, Oliver kept going and reached the #12 spot on
Beatport in January 2014 with his remix of the Martin Garrix smash
‘Animals’. Heldens also released his remixes of Robin Thicke’s “Feel Good”
and Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars”.
