Sekanjabin: Sekanjabin is an 11+ piece international ensemble, infusing traditional Turkish music with various rhythms and styles from around the world, and re-imagining it with not-so-traditional instrumentation. From salsa and flamenco to reggae to calypso, Sekanjabin breathes new life into centuries old folk music. The group's ever-changing cast boasts members from the US, Turkey, and Peru. Frontwoman Gulin Ciloglu spends most of her time in Turkey, but whenever she returns to the States, Sekanjabin assembles! The result is a unique, high-energy live show that spills over from the stage to the dance floor.

Los Thujones: Formed inside a little cabin with no running water in the foothills of the Catskills just north of NYC, Los Thujones is a group of musicians devoted to the idea that music should be fun and real. Their sound harkens back to times when music was played by musicians sitting together in one room in one moment. Featuring odd arrangements of ukuleles, mandolins, upright basses, trombones, harmonicas, over crazy beats... Ska, reggae, folk, neo folk, or whatever you want to call them... Los Thujones play with a gusto, intelligence, and passion.

Not Waving But Drowning makes a joyful noise spinning together shipwrecked shanties, Appalachian reels, bordello blues, and gleeful indie rock. They combine the uplifting with the disturbing, dishing it all out in their trademark harmonies and unexpected arrangements that are part bacchanalian cabaret, part art rock elan, and part toe-tapping down home comfort. Formed in 2008, the Brooklyn-based quartet will release their third full-length record this November.
