Four of the hardest working musicians in the KC music scene have stirred in the heartbeat, skank & bubble of reggae with tasty, soulful R&B vocals, & blended their various musical influences, including funk, country, zydeco & rock, to create their own flavor of rootsy reggae in an exciting new reggae band called New Common Ground. Reggae veteran, Edward “Eddie” Turner has nearly three decades of experience playing keyboards & singing with some of the best local reggae bands, & working with & backing many top international reggae artists. Guitarist Rick “Pretty Ricky” Cole, and bassist, Richard “Richmo” Faught, have recorded with a well-known regional reggae artist. They, along with drummer, Blaine “B Dub” Smith, have honed their reggae chops during the last decade playing with most of the up & coming local reggae bands. The combination of their collective talents, infectious positive energy on stage & eclectic, experimental arrangements of reggae tunes & songs from other genres makes this band refreshingly unique.
