Wednesday 13

Bolt your doors, seal off your windows, and turn off your radio it's a scary world out there, full of mindless zombies and equally mindless rockstars, self-righteously preaching and self-indulgently whining to the herd. But help is on the way, as Wednesday 13 stands ready to shock the rock status quo out of its brain-dead coma. Equal parts artist, horror and TV addict, and riveting frontman, Wednesday 13 refuses to be your typical messiah. I don't like anyone preaching to me that's why I've never gone to church. says Wednesday. For me, music has always been an escape from real life. Whatever problems I had, I could always go home, put on a record and just escape all of that shit. So in my own music, the only thing I'm serious about is not being serious!

Though best known for fronting the Murderdolls, Wednesday is a rock veteran who's been playing in bands since he was 15-years old. He adopted his stage moniker in 1995, naming himself after Wednesday of The Addams Family and the address, 1313 Mockingbird Lane, of The Munsters. A year later he formed his now-deceased horror-core band Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13, named in the spirit of legendary B-movie director Ed Wood. The band put out four independent albums between 1996 and 2001, and played countless local shows. Frankenstein Drag Queens was Wednesday's baby, and he slaved away for his undead offspring - writing the songs, booking shows, working low-wage jobs (delivering everything from newspapers to furniture), and generally putting all his money and energy into the band.

The song I Walked with a Zombie, for instance, was inspired by the 1943 horror movie of the same name. It's one of the first movies that dealt with voodoo, the singer/guitarist explains. But I just went in a totally different direction the song is actually kind of a love song about a zombie.

The song Elect Death for President, meanwhile, was inspired by the TV news. I was watching CNN last year, and I was like 'You know, this is scarier than any horror movie,' Wednesday recalls. I'm not a political person, but it doesn't take a genius to realize that there are problems. So I started making up sarcastic lyrics about a campaign where Death was actually running for president. I felt kind of weird afterwards, like Did I just write a political song? Or not?'

The recording now behind him and the bloody, infectious results commited to tape, the singer/guitarist is burning to sink his fangs into the rock world's throat once again. Despite his writing and performing the record himself, Wednesday 13 is a band, which includes Wednesday on vocals/guitar, Ghastly on drums, Kid Kid on bass and Pig on guitar. Once the record was done, the band immediately hit the road, playing a 16-date club tour of the UK/Europe to warm up the new material. The tour was a great success, drawing thousands of fans and affirming Wednesday's ability to connect with fans, whatever the project.

Eyes Set To Kill

At some point or another, everybody wears a mask. That façade doesn't just hide imperfections or insecurities either. It allows its wearer to assume a different face. Sometimes, that's a dangerous proposition. Other times, it's the only way to find oneself. Eyes Set To Kill uncovered their identity within Masks, their fifth full-length album and first for Century Media Records.

Eyes Set To Kill have been providing fans that outlet since they first emerged from Phoenix, AZ in 2003. Since then, they have amassed over 1.17 million Facebook likes, covered USA Today, and landed on Alternative Press's coveted "100 Bands You Need to Know List". On the road, they've developed into a veritable whirlwind, sharing stages with everyone from Papa Roach to Black Veil Brides. They've crossed the globe four times on tour and even headlined a festival in Jakarta in front of 8,000-plus fans.

Now, with the Masks off, Eyes Set To Kill stand primed to be heard louder than ever before. "I feel like we've been working towards this record for our whole career," concludes Alexia. "There were times I was almost going to give up. I'm glad I didn't. I'd love for this music to inspire everyone to keep going. It's always worth it to hold on to your dreams."

Die So Fluid

The modern incarnation of a ‘power trio’. Their sonic identity possesses the muscle of metal, the angular cheekbones of post-punk and the bittersweet heart of grunge. They are part of a new generation of rock bands who chose to turn down signing a traditional record deal and embrace the changes the internet has made to the industry by stripping record companies of their distribution and promotion monopolies. Die So Fluid therefore retain ownership of all their recordings and copyright of all compositions.

Nightmare Sonata

The Reverend Benjamin Samedi formed Nightmare Sonata in 2004 out of the broken remnants of Greensboro, NC’s Gothic-Industrial and Punk rock scenes. Drawing on the musical influences of both, Nightmare Sonata creates a heavy and groove-oriented sonic brew that combines the sonic expanse of Goth and the raw brutality of metal and Punk. Dark imagery fused with fast percussional foundations are woven into an audio and visual tapestry and Samedi (who is alwasy seen dressed as a bokor¸ from Haitian lore)—joined by drummer Vega, bassist Lady Von Creepshit, and the guitarist known as Pork—are positioned to blow Nightmare Sonata’s recipe of Zombie Dust into the face of the music industry.

Nightmare Sonata’s sonic experience and visual landscape are not for the feint of heart; the music is dark, heavy and groove-oriented with track speeds that vary between 90 and 260 BPM. The lyrical content and overall vibe borrows heavily from horror film and fiction, dark legends and religious rites and forms the imagery into a relentless aural assault that is reminiscent of Samhain, The Misfits and Danzig’s solo work. With an audience from across genre lines, Nightmare Sonata gets its draw from punk rockers (who appreciate the DIY aspect of Nightmare’s development), Goth-Industrial lovers, as well as drawing from a heavy metal fan base, horror fans and comic and game convention attendees.

The band partners with a duo of dark theatre/fetish performers dubbed “The Zombie Pit.” Seeking to loosely illustrate the lyrical content of Nightmare Sonata's songs through horrific BDSM & fetish-based theatrics for select live shows, Nightmare Sonata has become known in the region for an intense and often graphic stage presence coupled with a dark and heavy sound. The band has toured extensively throughout the Southeast region and became an act to catch live due to the heavy grooves, Samedi’s melodic vocals (rare for punk) as well as the horror-themed theatrics.

The Fill Ins

Are unlike any other band you will see. Many have said we are "epic winning and badass" and saviors of classic punk rock. How ever you wanna word it, we are here to stay.
We've got Alex Stiff on vocals and sexiness, Mikey Black on lead guitar and icy glares, Captain Nunn on bass and drinkin' that whisky and Matt McCoy on drums and general "kicking your ass"ness.

Invited: Mary Pina, Chris Lowe, Christian Pittman, Jenn Small Holladay, Matt Miller, Lori Elizabeth Weaver, Jenn Mott Redd, Erika Hummel, Scott Miller, Chris Rigo, Amanda Tattermask, Lindsay Pizzuti, Ashleigh Connor, Adam Nelson, Amy Scott Taylor, Shane Deal, Chris Martin, Eric Alford, Viken Tashjian, Eric Rosenberg, Billy Dunk Tank Thomason show more »
