The Big Takeover

The Big Takeover is a New York based high energy sextet with a refreshingly upbeat, party-making approach to interpreting the Jamaican tradition of rocksteady, ska, and reggae music. Whether live or recorded, they never fail to deliver, using an energetic fusion of their own innovative originals and crowd favorites to keep audiences jamming from the first note to the last. They are fronted by a genuine Jamaican singer, who is backed by a skin-tight rhythm section. They have done over 300 live performances, including shows with The Original Wailers, Jefferson Starship, Sam Kinninger from Soulive, Pete Seeger, Badfish, Taurrus Riley, Eek-a-Mouse, Groundation and West Bound Train, Norma Fraiser, The Pietasters, Tarrus Riley, Inner Vision, Inner Circle, The Meditations, Sister Nancy and Gandalf Murphy and The Slambovian Circus of Dreams. With the 2008 studio album (Following Too Close), and a 2010 well received release of Tale of My Life under their belt, the band continues to seek out new audiences and introduce them to their brand of foot-tapping revelry.

GrassHoppa

GrassHoppa combines bluegrass instrumentation with smooth soulful Cali, Roots, and original reggae vibes. The beautiful melodic playing of Carl Schmid and amazing banjo playing of Gregory Lawing truly bring to life this truly unique take on Reggae music. Lead vocals by Daric Allen Smith with soulful gorgeous harmonies from Suzanna Baum! Solid one drop from Adam Sitnick with Elijah Cramer dropping the bass! And last, but not least we have Max Melner previously of Discordian Society and more currently Asian Teacher Factory and Cigarette Umbrella on Keys!
