Toronto’s Barry Harris was the first club DJ in the world to write, produce and perform a Top 40 hit; “I Beg Your Pardon” by his debut act Kon Kan.
“I Beg Your Pardon”, became an international Top 5 hit around the world, garnering a Juno Award (Canadian Grammy) for Best Dance Recording in 1990.
In 1998, Barry relocated to Los Angeles and became the mastermind behind the remix team Thunderpuss producing more than 40 #1 Billboard Dance remixes including hits for major label recording artists Madonna, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Cher, Mary J. Blige, Celine Dion & Donna Summer to name a few.
Barry is best known for Whitney Houston’s Top 5 global hit, “It’s Not Right But It’s Okay” which remains in steady rotation around the world today.
Barry Harris continues to remix dance club favourites, advancing his signature sound to Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Drake, Maroon 5, Nicky Minaj and many more yet to come.
