Starting out as a pair of like-minded friends with a shared vision to bring their distinctive sound of deep and soulful house music to the masses, they initially teamed up to co-promote a number of small but reputable events across London and Essex. Often playing back-to-back at these parties, the two soon realised they worked well together as a duo in the DJ booth, so it wasn't long until they were bashing their heads together in the studio.

The ensuing results were of a calibre that would raise an eyebrow on even the most seasoned house music professional. After just a few short sessions, they had enough material to grab the attention of some of the industry's most respected labels. Their first release 'Sex & Consent' was signed by none other than Toolroom Records for its Miami 2013 Compilation.

“The first time I heard a track from these guys I had to find out who they were,” recalls Ed Harvey, album co-ordinator at Toolroom Records. “Their production is bang on point; their tracks are designed to hook you straight in; you want to hear more... They are two very talented guys heading for big things!”

From that point on, Long & Harris' schedule has been packed with major gigs at super clubs like London's Ministry of Sound – including Toolroom's 10th anniversary bash – major festival appearances including a performance on the Future Gods stage at Global Gathering, playing alongside the likes Hannah Wants and Sonny Wharton and an endless string of nocturnal studio sessions, during which they've amassed a stunning collection of original tracks and remixes, each of which come complete with the same house-rocking beats as 'Sex & Consent'.

In fact, Long & Harris have signed a further eight consecutive tracks to Toolroom Records, including a remix of the 90s soul classic 'The Revival' by 'Martine Girault, alongside Copy Paste Soul & Giom, which demonstrated the label's trust in their abilities. They were then asked to produce another original track – 'Close to 89' – for Toolroom's Miami 2014 album, which went straight into the top 10 dance compilation chart on iTunes in 13 countries and hit No.1 on Beatport.

Support for the duo's music has come from a broad range of key players including: Disclosure, Annie Mac, Mark Knight, Tommie Sunshine, David Penn, My Digital Enemy, Prok & Fitch, ATFC, Copyright, Sam Divine, Andi Durrant, David Squillace, Oliver Lang and Simon Doty, among many others. Labels such as Grin Recordings and Maquina Music have showed a great deal of interest and it seems their career is firmly locked into a trajectory set to drop them cleanly in big league.

2014 is shaping up to be another hectic year for the pair, with an even busier studio schedule and a string of club and festival gigs to fit in-between sessions. Scheduled releases include an EP on Swedish label Spirit Soul Records, due for release late summer, along with a number of remixes. Throughout this, they'll continue to push their bass-driven, body-rocking, soulful deep house sound, dropping the odd 70s and 80s disco vibe to keep things on a classic tip.
