Nonnus (Germany)
Nonnus started DJing in 1997 and had his first international booking next year in South Africa together with couple of Boom Festival DJs.
Following years saw him performing in some of the biggest portuguese clubs including Hardclub (Oporto), Pacha (Ofir), Paradise Garage (Lisbon) and taking part on some of the biggest dance events in Portugal like Optimus Hype@Meco 2001 with over 30000 people.
He was also involved in the launch of Flow Records, the pioneer portuguese trance label (now also focused on progressive house, house, electronica as Flow Vinyl) before deciding to go on his own way and start his dream sci-fi label project, Silicon Records.
In 2004 Nonnus participated in the first Heineken Found@Thirst DJ contest judged by Paul Oakenfoald and was one of the 3 finalists earning the right to perform next to big stars Jeff Mills and Timo Maas.
The logical evolution from DJ to producer evolved slowly as the technology involved in music production mutated from the exclusive hardware extravaganza to the actual software democracy. Focusing on finding his own musical language and groove identity instead of following established styles, constantly improving his production techniques and tools until reaching his own unique sound: Hi Tech.
In 2011 he rebooted Silicon Records and later resumed his music production along his partner in crime (both in the studio and in the decks), Porter Rhodes. To this date he has released his music in many labels such as Great Stuff, Pornographic Recordings, Transmit Recordings, Silicon Records, Yellow Recordings, Mudra Audio (among many others) and has performed around the world in countries like Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Germany, Holland, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, South Africa.
