Townie. Comedian/actor Steve Sweeney’s keen dialect and character skills have made him a key figure in Boston’s cultural landscape. Sweeney was raised in hard-scrabble, colorful Charlestown, and has carried its influences with him through a career that’s included nearly 25 films, national television appearances, radio hosting, and thousands of nights headlining Boston’s best comedy clubs. In his one-man show, he regales his audiences with stories from his life-long journey, to the backdrop of neighborhoods, the old Boston Theater District, and other landmarks.

Sweeney has been a featured on major television shows including David Letterman, Evening at the Improv, Comics Come Home and Comedy Central, and starred in his own Boston-based sitcom, Park Street Under.
